Position Summary: Join our team as an Accounting Manager and take on a pivotal role overseeing and supporting our accounting operations. You'll lead a dedicated team, managing full cycle Accounts Payable processes and leveraging your expertise in Collections and Accounts Receivable to develop effective strategies. With your construction industry experience and strong technical skills, you'll contribute to our financial health while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Essential Functions:

• Supervising and providing guidance to a team of accounting professionals. Please note that reporting structures may evolve based on organizational needs.
• Managing full cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) processes, which includes processing manual checks, overseeing positive pay entries, and resolving any discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, and receipts. Collaboration with vendors and internal departments will be essential in resolving these issues.
• Leveraging your expertise in Collections and Accounts Receivable (A/R) to develop effective strategies for timely and efficient collections. This will involve close collaboration with Credit Managers to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Developing and implementing proactive goals and strategies to minimize exposure and reduce write-offs.
• Partnering with Sales and Business Leaders to assess and determine appropriate actions for delinquent customers, such as implementing credit holds, pursuing legal avenues, or writing off bad debts.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of state and federal laws pertaining to Accounts Receivable collections, including but not limited to the Fair Debt Collection Act, as well as rights regarding liens and bonds.
• Effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• Preferred experience in the construction industry.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of direct management experience.
• Proficiency in technical skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and vlookups).
• Experience with multi-state sales tax compliance preferred.
• Demonstrated high level of attention to detail, sound judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
